Thanks September!

Dear September,

Thank you! Once again, you've been an awesome month. Full of fun, memories and beautiful weather. October, you're looking to be very fallish, but we have plenty of fun planned for you as well! I'll be honest... I'm not ready for your cousins November, December, January and February to bring their cold and snow, so please don't go as fast as September.

Sincerely,
The Mama

I cannot believe that it is the last day of September. Where did the last month go? I swear the days at work may seem long, but the days of school, events and after work activities make the weeks FLY by. I don't want it to go so fast. It seems each day my kids get up and they all look like they grew an inch overnight. Pants that fit them yesterday are almost floods the next. It's all going much too fast most days!!

So, I have a silver lining to my dark, frustrated post from yesterday about my lab results. Another lab result came in after my appointment. I have to have my DHEA Sulfate levels tested frequently because of my PCOS. It's basically testing testosterone levels and adrenal gland activity. A high number is expected with PCOS because of the hormonal imbalance. The normal levels top out at 228. In March of this year when I saw the endocrinologist (PCOS specialist) he tested my levels and they were 366. When I had them tested on Monday they were 273!!!! I'm less than 50 points over the normal level and cut that number by more than 50% in 6 months!! That means my hormone levels are a bit more normal with my adrenal gland able to work more accurately. Simply put, I'm finding a way to rein in at least one PCOS-related issue and a pretty big one at that. Doc even put in the notes to keep up the great work. {{pats self on back}}

That's about all of the good news I have for today. I've decided to back out of the Tortoise Triathlon, so no shirt, but it's more on the back burner than a complete wash. I want to attempt to do one this winter with a bit more time to get it done since karate takes up a good portion of our evenings right now.

We're making progress on the basement. The basement drying people are moving out today after almost a week! FINALLY!!! I can't wait to enjoy the quiet in the house tonight... no fans blasting and whirring sounds blaring out of the basement. Ahhhhh!! We are pretty sure we've decided on a contractor and we've picked out our flooring and wall colors. We're just waiting on the adjuster to give us his estimate so we know how far off the contractor and the adjuster are and we can get started on the remodeling. Once that starts, we also get to start buying replacement items. WOOHOO!! I spent the evening last night putting some sense of organization back into our crazy, chaotic home. Bonus... I could find my work clothes this morning! Mission accomplished!

Tonight is karate for all and Lemon Chicken Pasta before we leave so that everyone is fed and energized. Mmmm!!! The recipe will be altered slightly to be THM-friendly. We will use Dreamfield's pasta and coconut flour, but otherwise this recipe is a big hit in our house.
