Check Up & Celebrations!

Today was the big day... my one month check up with the weight loss specialist. I have to say that I really like the guy. He has an awesome bedside manner and I've laughed through most of the last two visits. I'm hoping that's a good sign.

So, the according to the doc's scale, I am down five pounds and I lost 1/2 an inch from my waist. No change to my meds or the way I've been eating. He had sympathy for my newly toothless status and inability to eat crunchy foods. The downfall is that veggies have been hard to eat, so he suggested I cook them. UGH!!! Time to get creative! Plus, now I can make Emmy Lou happy and make some bacon wrapped asparagus for dinner one night soon. I'm not a cooked veggies person. I prefer raw veggies. Hopefully salads will be on the menu again by the end of next week.

This is just part of the challenge I mentioned early this week! At least I'm feeling a bit more human every day. Today I was able to drink water out of a cup instead of squirting it into my mouth from a squirt bottle!

Speaking of celebrating. I went to karate tonight! I'm so sick of sitting around doing nothing and I'm BORED! Everything I do hurts, so I decided to just go and deal with the pain after. I've missed it and it felt so good to be back! I finally got to learn some new material, I got to wear my new blue uniform, and I also finally got to wear my blue belt for the first time. I'm paying for it now, but it felt so good. I released some stress and left feeling happy and mentally lighter.

All-in-all, today was a good day. As easy as it is to wallow in self pity and binge watch Netflix, it really did feel much better to be me today! Oh and I cooked a super yummy dinner while The Hubby took the girls to early karate. Tonight we had mozzarella stuffed meatballs (actually The Hubby made those) with Pizza Spaghetti Bake. Of course, I used Dreamfields spaghetti to keep it THM friendly. Then The Hubby and I had peanut butter whips for dessert after karate. Happy food, but totally on plan!!

Yup, it was a good day! To top it off, tomorrow is Friday! WOOT WOOT!
